inspection useful?

What does an electrical inspection include?

We confirm the scope before the visit. Depending on your concerns and access, an assessment can include the following areas.
Panel & circuit protection
Review panel condition, circuit identification, breakers and visible signs of damage or overheating.
Accessible wiring
Assess accessible wiring and connections for deterioration, damage and installation concerns. Concealed wiring may require separate investigation.
Outlets & switches
Review selected devices, locations and operation, including concerns identified in your home-inspection report.
Grounding & bonding

An assessment describes what can be inspected and tested within the agreed scope. It cannot guarantee the condition of inaccessible wiring or prevent every future fault.

Sylvester Electric evaluates electrical concerns and explains repair or upgrade options. This is useful for homeowners and for electrical follow-up after a general home inspection.
It is not a whole-property inspection of the roof, foundation, plumbing or other building systems.
A municipal permit inspection
When electrical work requires permits and inspections, approval comes through the applicable local authority. Our assessment does not replace that process.
If you have a permit notice or correction list, share it before the appointment so we can discuss the work and required coordination.
Code requirements depend on the jurisdiction, installation and scope of work. We assess the specific situation rather than promising that every existing component must meet every provision for new construction.

Can you inspect the electrical system before I buy a house?
Contact us with the property address, electrical findings and deadline. We can discuss an electrical assessment and what it covers. This is separate from a general home inspection and any required municipal inspection.
Will you inspect every wire inside the walls?
No. A routine assessment is limited by access and the agreed testing scope. Hidden conditions may require additional investigation, which should be discussed separately.
Does an older panel automatically need replacement?
No. Age is one consideration, along with condition, equipment type, installation concerns and electrical demand. Our recommendation should be based on the actual findings.
How long does an electrical inspection take?
It depends on the property, scope, access and testing involved. Tell our office what you need so we can discuss the expected visit and any planned power interruption.
Can you help with an electrical correction notice?
Yes, share the notice before booking. We can review the requested corrections and discuss the work. The local authority determines the permit and inspection requirements and final approval.
Are repairs included in the inspection price?
Ask what the appointment includes before booking. Additional diagnostic work, repairs and upgrades should be explained and priced before you approve them.
Does an inspection qualify me for a rebate?
An electrical assessment does not itself establish rebate eligibility. If you are considering an energy-related project, verify current program requirements before relying on an incentive.
