Our Story
Sylvester Electric was founded in 1979 by Thomas Sylvester with a simple goal: provide honest, dependable electrical service to local homeowners and businesses.
Chris's connection to the company started long before he became an electrician. As a kid, around 12 or 13 years old, he spent summers helping his dad on electrical jobs throughout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. At the time, he was mostly interested in earning money for baseball cards but what he didn't realize was that he was learning lessons that would stay with him for the rest of his life. He watched his dad show up when he said he would, treat customers fairly, stand behind his work, and build relationships that lasted for decades. Those values became the foundation of Sylvester Electric and continue to guide the company today.
After graduating high school, Chris attended community college and explored different career paths - but it didn't take long to realize he genuinely enjoyed electrical work and wanted to make it his profession. He enrolled in a four-year electrical apprenticeship program, earned his Journeyman Electrician license, and later obtained his Master Electrician license. In 1999, he joined Sylvester Electric full time and had the privilege of working side by side with his dad. In 2004, he took over the company and officially incorporated Sylvester Electric.
Today it's still very much a family business. Chris's wife Kim handles the administrative and accounting side of operations, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. The whole team shares the same commitment to honest recommendations, clear communication, and quality workmanship that Thomas built this company on in 1979.
