Bring fixture links, room photos or a simple sketch. You do not need a finished lighting plan to start the conversation.
- Brightness and coverage: consider the whole room and the surfaces where you need focused light.
- Light color: compare warm and cooler options in the space; keep nearby fixtures consistent when that is the look you want.
- Control: decide which lights should switch or dim together.
- Fixture fit: confirm size, support, location rating and compatibility before ordering.

What affects installation cost?
A fixture swap and a new lighting layout involve different work. Your estimate depends on:
- The number and type of fixtures and controls.
- Whether wiring and suitable electrical boxes are already in place.
- Ceiling height and access through an attic, basement or finished surfaces.
- New circuits, wiring changes or outdoor work.
- Any required permits, inspections and finish repairs.
Ask what is included, who supplies the fixtures and whether patching or painting is part of the scope.

Early planning can make wiring routes and switch placement easier to coordinate. For an existing finished room, we will discuss access and any openings the work may require before you approve it.
Repairs and installations
Not every lighting problem needs new fixtures
Flickering, buzzing or lights that no longer work can have different causes. A compatible bulb or control may be part of the answer, but the wiring and connections may also need evaluation.
A diagnostic repair appointment investigates an existing problem. An installation estimate plans new fixtures, a layout change or added lighting. Our office will explain the right visit and applicable charges before booking.

Questions before your lighting project
Can you add recessed lighting to a finished room?
Often, yes. Ceiling construction and access determine the wiring route and where fixtures can go. We will discuss any ceiling or wall openings and who handles finish repairs before work starts.
Can I provide my own light fixtures?
Tell us what you are considering before ordering. Share product links, quantities and installation locations so we can discuss compatibility, mounting and what is included in the estimate.
Will my existing dimmer work with LED lighting?
It depends on the dimmer and the lamp or fixture. Dimming compatibility needs to be checked for the selected products. Buzzing, flicker or a limited dimming range should be evaluated rather than assumed to be normal.
How long will installation take?
Replacing a fixture at an existing suitable box is different from adding multiple lights and new wiring. Fixture count, ceiling height and access affect timing. We discuss the expected work and scheduling after reviewing the project.
Will the work need a permit or inspection?
Requirements depend on the work and your municipality. We review the applicable permit and inspection steps as part of planning. Do not assume a fixture replacement or new wiring is automatically exempt.

Can you install a Ring floodlight camera or outdoor security camera?
Yes. Share the model you have or are considering, where you want it installed and whether power is already available there. We will review the mounting location and electrical work needed. Before booking, we will also clarify Wi-Fi needs and what is included in app setup and testing. Any camera subscription is separate from installation.
